    Church Administrative Assistant (Part Time)

    Reidville Road Church (A Global Methodist Congregation)

    Reidville Road Methodist Church is seeking an organized and dependable Church Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support for the daily operations of the church. This individual will work closely with the Pastor, staff, and church leadership to ensure effective communication, organization, and coordination of church activities and ministries.

    Position Overview

    This position serves as the primary administrative support for the church office and assists with communication, scheduling, record keeping, and coordination of church programs. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact professionally with church members, visitors, and community partners. Hours are flexible. Salary is TBD.

    Accountability

    This position reports to the Pastor for day-to-day operations and works with the Pastor Parish Staff Committee regarding goals, performance evaluation, and communication.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Church Secretary will provide administrative and communication support in the following areas:

    Office Administration

    • Maintain regular church office hours and serve as the first point of contact for visitors, phone calls, and emails.
    • Provide administrative support to the Pastor, church staff, and ministry leaders.
    • Maintain organized church files, records, and documents.

    Communication & Publications

    • Prepare and distribute weekly church bulletins, newsletters, and other communications.
    • Maintain and update the church calendar and coordinate scheduling of events and facility use.
    • Assist with communication to the congregation regarding church programs, events, and ministry updates.

    Membership & Records

    • Maintain membership records, attendance reports, and other church databases.
    • Record and maintain baptisms, weddings, funerals, and membership changes.

     

     

     

    Financial & Administrative Support

    • Assist with basic financial record keeping, such as tracking designated funds or preparing reports as directed.
    • Maintain supplies and assist with ordering office materials as needed.

    Meetings & Coordination

    • Assist with preparation of materials for Administrative Council and other church meetings.
    • Record or distribute meeting minutes when requested.
    • Coordinate schedules and provide logistical support for church events and activities.

    Qualifications

    • Strong organizational and administrative skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency with common office software (word processing, email, spreadsheets)
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
    • Friendly and welcoming attitude when interacting with church members and visitors
    • Previous administrative or office experience preferred
    • Minimum high school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred
    • Subject to background check

    Director of Youth Ministries (Part time)

    Reidville Road Church is seeking a passionate Director of Youth Ministries to develop a vibrant Christian education program for youth in grades 6–12. This individual will work closely with the Pastor, church leadership, parents, and volunteers to nurture students in their faith in Jesus Christ and encourage active engagement in the life of the church.

    Position Overview (Salary Range TBD)

    The Director of Youth Ministries will oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of youth programs that support spiritual growth, Christian fellowship, and service. This role focuses on building meaningful relationships with youth, families, and volunteers while developing programs that help students grow in their faith and commitment to the church.

    Accountability

    This position reports to the Pastor for day-to-day operations and works with the Pastor/Staff Parish Relations Committee regarding goals, performance evaluation, and communication.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Director of Youth Ministries will plan, develop, coordinate, promote, and implement a quality Christian education program for youth in the following areas:

    Youth Discipleship & Programming

    • Plan and lead weekly Youth Group gatherings that encourage spiritual, social, and relational growth.
    • Support and guide the Youth Sunday School program, providing teachers with curriculum, resources, and encouragement.
    • Organize and lead Confirmation classes, processes, and ceremonies.
    • Plan and implement seasonal and special youth events.

    Volunteer Leadership

    • Recruit, train, and supervise teachers, youth leaders, and volunteers.
    • Provide support in classrooms and youth activities as needed.
    • Ensure all volunteers comply with Safe Sanctuary policies and complete required background checks.

     

     

     

     

     

    Service & Outreach

    • Develop and facilitate youth service and outreach opportunities that encourage servant leadership, such as:
      • Visiting homebound members
      • Community service projects
      • Fundraising initiatives
      • Volunteering with organizations such as local food banks

    Faith Development

    • Teach and mentor youth in understanding and applying Biblical principles in daily life.
    • Encourage youth participation in worship and church life.

    Communication & Planning

    • Communicate youth ministry plans and updates regularly with the Pastor, parents, and congregation.
    • Develop a strategic plan for Youth Ministry that aligns with the mission and vision of Reidville Road Methodist Church.

    Administration

    • Assist in preparing and managing the Youth Ministry budget, exercising responsible stewardship of church resources.
    • Attend monthly Administrative Council meetings and report on youth ministry activities and upcoming plans.

    Qualifications

    • A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to Christian ministry
    • Passion for working with youth and supporting their spiritual development
    • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
    • Ability to recruit, train, and support volunteers
    • Experience in youth ministry, Christian education, or a related field preferred
    • Commitment to maintaining Safe Sanctuary policies and practices
    • Minimum high school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred
    • Subject to background check
